Op report reads:
dissection was taken down to subcutaneous tissue in which bursal sac structure was removed. Inspection of the rest of elbow joint at the olecranon bursa did not show an opening betweeen the olecronon bursa and elbow joint, so dissection was made on lateral aspect to expose the elbow joint and showed inflammation of synovium. Open Synovectomy was performed. There was evidence of loose bodies and this was irrigated with antibiotic solution.
Question: does the synovectomy and irrigation of loose bodies one cpt code 24102. not sure because it is open procedure. Or would it be the 24000. Wasnt sure since the NCCI edits says that the excision of olecronon bursa 24105 can't be billed with 24000.
