Hello, can someone please help me to better understand the 3-day and 72 hour rule guidelines?
Are they the same guidelines or are they different?
Is there a more simple way or cut and dry way to understand what should be bundled in this time period?
I work for a Hospital that is provider based and I am a biller for Medicare advantage plans. I have read so many different explanations and I still get confused on when to fight to have a claim paid and when should be wrote off as bundled with in the 72 hour or 3-day rule. My department does not have a guideline down and my team mates are not very clear on the process either.
