30140 and 31255

We have always billed 30140 and 31255 together.( If both procedures were done) it has never been a problem. We just received two denials for 30140 on two different patients from United Healthcare. They state that 30140 is bundled with 31255. They say this is new rules for 2009. Have any of you heard of this? Thanks for you help. km
 
They don't bundle under CCI. Do you have a contract with UHC? Could be part of your contract. Otherwise, I don't see it bundling.
 
Yes, we do have a contract. This was never an issue before. They have always paid on the 30140. UHC says this is their new policy. We are going to appeal. km
