Wiki 40812 Excision, lesion of mucosa and submucosa (mucocele)

We have a patient that presented with 2 lower lip masses. Upon examination there was a midline lower lip mucocele and a second mucocele of the right lower lip. We believe 40812 is the best procedure code but based on the language of the code it appears as though it will adjust with a multiple procedure rule. Patient has a commercial insurance plan (Aetna). Not sure if it is best to bill as (2) units or two line items with a 59 modifier on the second line item. Are other practices finding that this code does process as a multiple procedure, only allowing 50% of the second excision? Any help is appreciated!
