If the procedure 52356(Cystourethroscopy, with ureteroscopy and/or pyeloscopy; with lithotripsy including insertion of indwelling ureteral stent (eg, Gibbons or double-J type) & 52352(Cystourethroscopy, with ureteroscopy and/or pyeloscopy; with removal or manipulation of calculus (ureteral catheterization is included)) performed on same ureter or kidney .what is guidelines; 52352 is inclusive with 52356?

If the same procedures performed on different ureter /kidney , can we coded as 52356 & 52352 -59?

Yes to both questions - the removal/manipulation of the stone is inclusive to the lithotripsy, but if a removal is done on a separate site (i.e. the contralateral ureter), then the modifier would be supported. Per the NCCI manual, only one unit of service for treatment of stones can be billed per ureter.
