The group I code for we often see multiple chest xrays and/or abdominal xrays in the same day checking ET tubes and NG tubes. For a 71020 we code 26 52 77/76 and the the time in the HCFA 19 line. Does anyone know if this is the correct way across the board for medicare and private insurance's? If so, can you provide a reference?

There was an article in the WPS eNews recently (12/08/14) about appropriate use of mod 76, might be helpful for you. We also do multiples of those procedures. Let me know if you can't find it - I could always fax a copy.
