Hi all-
I am trying to verify if this code 64449 is the correct code to use for TAP blocks with a catheter. I know that you would use 64450 w/o a catheter. Has anyone used this code and gotten paid for it by Medicare? This was for a anterior lumbar interbody fusion, and rhe doctor did the TAP block for post op pain.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!

If was a continuous infusion (not a single shot with catheter), need to use 64999 since there is not a code for continuous infusion for other peripheral nerve.

I agree with dwaldman, 64449 would not be appropriate here. You should use 64999 if your provider did not specify the nerve that was targeted.
