Code 65778 Bleach in Eye. Hello, Hoping for some direction. Patient having issue with corneal surface, patient splashed bleach in her eye. Physician wants to bill 65778 (placement amniotic membrane..) with diagnosis code H16.4 (corneal neovascularization )but on opthocodingcoach aao.org H16.4 is not listed under code 65778 as a applicable diagnosis? patient has medicare, nyship secondary. Just want to make sure if it would be covered for the patient. Thanks for any help/direction.
 
Hello, I am so sorry for my late response(vacation) and unfortunately, I don't know the correct answer (no icd book) but I would not bill it with H16.4 because h16.4 is ( to me ) a natural process of the eye disease and in your case it's an Injury, burn etc dx. T-code
