Are insurances, including Medicare, paying more when modifier 50 is added to claim when provider cleans both ears?
I thought adding modifier 50 to claim for 69210 would make it deny?
(AMA CPT says to apply modifier 50 when procedure is bilateral.)
thank you

I have been in ENT for 4 years now, and I have never gotten Medicare to pay with the modifier 50 appended. While it is correct to add the 50 to this code, Medicare does not like it for some reason.

Hope this helps!

How do I bill an E/M code (i.e G0439) with 69210 (modifiers LT RT) and get both of them paid? I keep getting a bundled denial so the ins won't cover both. Thanks

THE ONLY INSURANCES THAT WE USE 50 MODIFIER IS BCBS THAT IS THE ONLY INSURANCE THAT WILL PAY FOR BOTH SIDES, OTHER WISE JUST 69210 NO MODIFIERS UNLESS LEFT OR RIGHT
