the OV note of my Doc reads:he was simply walking, stepped off a curb and felt a popping sensation in the back of the knee. I suggest coding 717.3 and 717.40 for the arthroscope rather than coding it as an injury code 836.0 and 836.1. Plse advise.

I'd go with the injury code. If that's all the note states, it "doesn't" state that this was/is an old injury. Can't assume it is. The note does state, "he stepped off and felt......." so, he felt the injury as it happened when he stepped off the curb...
