I work in a Ambulatory Surgery Center. I have a patient that had all the admission process complete including IV. He was found to have a irregular EKG and Dr. Cancled the procedure and sent him to the ER. Can I bill a 73 modifier for this service?
Your help is greatly appreciated!

Only if the patient was in the room where the procedure was to be performed. And you need the provider to document a note stating something like "upon arrival to the procedure room, the decision to cancel was made based on......." Then you can bill the procedure code with the 73 for the facility.
