Wiki 78 modifier ?

Patient had a total knee replacement 2 months ago. Now has significant arthrofibrosis and the doctor has done a manipulation of the knee under anesthesia.

27570 with a 78 Modifier? Would this be considered a complication ? Or would I use the 79 for a separate procedure. I always get confused on this scenario. . . . . please help

I personally would use 78 as this appears to be an unplanned service for a related procedure. Anyone else?

I agree and would also use modifier 78 for the manipulation.
