I need help... what would be the appropriate CPT for the below report? I'm leaning towards 78608?
INDICATION: Subsequent treatment strategy for glioblastoma
COMPARISON: 1/4/2010
IMPRESSION: Mild interval decrease in metabolic activity within the rim of hypermetabolic tumor activity within the treated glioblastoma.
TECHNIQUE: Approximately 60 minutes following the IV administratio of 6.5 mCi of F-18 FDG, a brain PET/CT scan was obtained. Prior to the administration of the FDG, the patient's blood glucose level was 127 mg/dl. Delayed images of the brain were also obtained.
The CT portion of this study is a low dose, non-contrast CT, used for attenuation correction and localization only, and is not a diagnostic CT.
FINDINGS: Tomographic images of the brain demonstrate patient to be status post left frontotemporal craniotomy. The previously noted rim of hypermetabolic activity of the tumor within the left-sided basal ganglia and thalamus, shows decreased metabolic activity at its anterior aspect since the prior study withe current maximum SUV of 5.59 (5.4 on delay) decreased from prior SUV of 5.84. Although this is not a significant decrease in activity qualitatively this region appears definitely less prominent when compared to the prior study.
