Wiki 88305-TC followed by 88321

If your lab prepares slides for an outside dr. & you bill 88305-TC, then the outside dr. sends that slide back to your lab for a 2nd opinion, can you then also bill 88321? CPT's inclusion of "slides prepared elsewhere" in the description for 88321 is throwing me off...

If the other doctor already billed 88305-26, you can't bill another bx for it. I agree the "prepared elsewhere" description is probably something AMA didn't foresee in this riddle of a situation.

I don't think you're going to get anything better than 88321 since you are performing a consultation. The 88305 covered all material prepared. 88321 will only cover what is being sent to you for a second opinion.
