Our Dermatology practice is opening up a clinic in a different state (Oregon). Our ARNP's will be performing biopsies at our satellite clinic in Oregon. The specimens will then travel to our main office in Washington State where our Dermatologist (he's also a dermatopathologist) will perform both the technical and professional components (88305). I am wondering since the biopsy (11100) will actually take place in Oregon but the pathology (88305) will be completely done in Washington State, do I bill the 88305 code from the service facility as our Washington state office? Any insight you can offer would be much appreciated! Thank You.

You are correct, you would bill from the state in which the service is performed. I bill for an oral pathologist and for the medical billing I am required per clia to bill in the state the technical/professional components were performed.
