We have an inhiuse pathology lab that preps slides obtained from biopsies out physicians collect. We have billed Aetna for the following services 88305 TC Biopsy Level IV, 88313 TC 59 Special Stain, Group III and 88342 TC 59 Immunohistochemstry. We are recieveing denials stating that the 88342 TC 59 is inclusive. Could anyone help? :confused:
 
I code for PC so I'm not 100% sure but do you need everything to have a 59 modifier? It's the modifier of last resort. Check the NCCI for bundling issues.
