90460 vs 90471 - I am wondering if I could get

I am wondering if I could get a little help or clarification between the 2 codes 90460 and 90471?

In the practice I work at we typical just bill the 90471 and 90472 with the immunizations for office visits. However we started to get denials? Should we be billing the 90460 and 90461 if the child in under 18 for office visits, and well child visits? Can anyone please help?

You can only bill the 90460 and 90461 if the provider does face to face counseling with the patient/guardian. If no counseling documented you must bill the 90471/2. Have you queried the insurances denying those codes?
