The situation is a client was seeing an unlicensed therapist and billed under a licensed therapist's NPI. The unlicensed provider is now licensed. Would the first session billed under the new NPI (but same group practice) be coded as 90791? They have been seeing the same provider all along, but claims will start being billed under the therapist's individual NPI going forward since certification. Thank you in advance!
