Can these services be performed as inpatient or outpatient? Can they be billed with other e&m's?
 
They can be billed in or outpatient.

When you mean billed with other EM's, do you mean same provider same day?Please clarify
 
According to Medicare the codes are good for inpatient and outpatient. Medicare states that the codes can be substituted with E&M codes. This usually means that the E&M cannot be billed with these codes.
 
I can not think of a good reason why psych would bill a 90801 and an EM on same day. They really should hardly be billing EM's period. I would say no. Check CCI edits for sure, but gut says no.
