We have a case of a temper tantrum on the way to a 90837 session with our therapist. The parent called and stayed on the phone with the therapist for approx 30 min while the therapist coached the dad on how to deescalate the situation. The child was screaming and flailing around to avoid getting in the car. After the situation deescalated, the dad stayed on the phone to get tips on what to do when this situation pops up again. Would this be considered a 90839 crisis therapy session under the high distress definition, or 90846 + 90785 for family therapy with interactive complexity? Your thoughts are appreciated!
