That's state and payer specific, unfortunately, to bill directly under the clinician. Typically, Masters' Level and above can obtain an NPI and bill Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payers (as of 2024, LCPC, MFT, etc., along with LICSW). Bachelors' level clinicians can provide services under the incident-to guidelines, as long as they are performing within the scope of their license (based on state statutes) and the incident-to guidelines are also met.
