We are Primary Care physicians subcontracting with an Ophthalmologist who will read and do the interpretation.
Can we bill 92250? We would be billing for both components since the Ophthalmologist is under contract with us.
Is it ok to bill 92250 under the Primary Care Physician?

You can't bill 92250 for what you're doing. You should bill 92228. I assume that your office is paying the ophthalmologist a set fee per patient so he won't have to file anything.

Yes, we will be paying the ophthalmologist per patient. Can you explain why we should not bill 92250? Also, these would be mostly for a screening of retinal disease.

I'm assuming the ophthalmologist isn't in your office and reviews the images remotely. If so, then you would use the remote imaging telemedicine code.
