hi i have a question, medicare patient comes in and has a contact lens fitting, i know they dont pay for that cpt code, how do other offices bill it out? do they use an e/m code instead? any information would help

thank you

Unless the CL fitting is for something like keratoconus or S/P penetrating keratoplasty, it would most likely be considered cosmetic, which isn't covered my Medicare. Therefore, the patient would be responsible for paying out of pocket for the CL fitting fees.
