I am trying to find a CPT code for a Event Monitor (which I know is 93268). But the patient did a home hookup. What code can be billed for this?

A 93268 states "External electrocardiographic recording up to 48 hours by continuous rhythm recording and storage; includes recording, scanning analysis with report, review and interpretation by a physician or other qualified health care professional." But if you read the layman's terms on the AAPC Coder it says "A technician places ECG leads on the patient's chest, and the monitor records the patient's rhythm on a continuous loop.." With instruction from the office, the patient put it on themselves at home.

How should this be billed?

Thank you
