Hi - I am looking for insight/advice for cardiac device monitoring.
For instance, we do remote device monitoring. We have an MD that bills the technical portion (93296) Interrogation device evaluation(s) (remote), up to 90 days; single, dual or multiple lead pacemaker system or implantable defibrillator system, remote data acquisition(s), receipt of transmissions and technician review, technical support and distribution of results and then our Cardiologist bills the professional portion (93294) Interrogation device evaluation(s) (remote), up to 90 days; single, dual, or multiple lead pacemaker system with interim analysis, review(s) and report(s) by a physician or other qualified health care professional.
Medicare is now denying claims for 93293-93296 range as duplicate. they are paying the cardiologist for the 93294 and denying our 93296 code because it is in the same range. Is anyone else having this issue or know of a work around - better code to fit so its not denied by Medicare.
Thank you in advance for your help and insight!!!
