To fulfill the "supervisory" requirement for coding 96372, does the nurse have to send the shot to the ordering doc for secondary review and e-sign, or is a standing order good enough?
 
Medicare requires "Direct" supervision for 96372.
That means the physician billing for the charge must be present and available to assist if required. Also the injection must meet incident to guidelines.
