Hi All...

Scenrio: Normal business hours are 830am-530pm. Patient was seen at 8am. Provider billed 99051. I personally think it should be a 99050. What are your thoughts?

Purely Hypothetical: 99051 specifically mentions services during regularly scheduled evening, weekend, or holiday hours. Normal business hours are 7am-4pm. Patient seen at 715am. How would you code this? And why?

Thanks,
Lisa

The codes are self explanatory int opinion the first scenario is a 99050 and the second one is no additional code 715 am is during regular daytime hours it is not an evening. You could apply the 99051 if this were a regular weekend or holiday day.
