hello. Does anybody know if you can bill a 99211 for just a new prescription, established patient. Can the NP or PA do it, or does the DR have to have at least 5 min with pt? AND if doing the BMI will substitue for the BP check? THanks for your help!!! DeEtta
 
I would need more information for the HPI and Exam however through Noivtas a work up with med change would make the MDM a 99214.hope this helps

The clinic wants to just do a prescription for ELLA, without a dr visit, and without BP check. They just want to do a BMI and write a script for it. I was thinking and looking and havent found anything that rules out a 99211 but havent found that would confirm that either. I have found that a 99211 will work for an existing prescription though.
