one of our doctors came into our practice in January and he seen a patient in the hospital for three different days. we are getting a denial that its global pt is in the post op period, we found out that the doctor did surgery on the patient when he was in another practice- not sure how to do this one, would it be with modifier 24 or if he is seeing the patient for the same dx, then would it be post op for the hospital I am not sure, about this one

Unless this physician is seeing the patient for another reason than for his previous surgery, then you cannot bill this service as it truly is still in the global period after surgery. If, however, the physician is treating a different condition, then the -24 modifier would be appropriate.
