Just wondering has anyone noticing that Medicare is denying CPT 99291 as not medically necessary when the DX code J96.01 & G93.40, can CPT code 99291 be down coded to another CPT? Some one please advise

Did the provider truly perform critical care per the guidelines? If so you cannot downcode it just to get it paid.
