If I'm going into the medical field with no medical experience would it be best to have a resume just focusing on my education or should I include past employment even if it's not relevant at all. (Mostly call center/customer service/serving)

I would put past employment for the following reasons:

1. they will want to call past employers so they need their names, see how long you stayed in each position, did you get promoted etc.....

2. and some skills are universal to every job ie:

  • Good with customer relations,
  • phone skills,
  • computer skills,
  • past employment achievements ie employee of the month etc....

You will need an employment history even though it may not be in the medical field per se and this is expected in a lot of positions so don't let that stress you out. In the cover letter highlight what you want to do in the medical field short term and long term. Right now just get your foot in the door and many opportunities will become available to you.
