Wiki ACP and Annual Wellness Visit Modifier

Pt has two encounter notes on the same day—one using (E/M Home Visit) 99350, 24 and the other using (MWV) G0439, 24 and 99497, 33. The MWV is currently on hold.

Am I supposed to add modifier 33 to G0439?
Take off modifier 24?
Or is there a different modifier I should use instead?

Hi there, modifier 33 would apply to the 99497 only. Since modifier 24 and 33 are both CPT modifiers they can't be added to a HCPCS code like G0439.

Hi,

Has anyone found a solution to denials for G0439 and 99497 with modifier 33? Would using different diagnosis codes help? We've been using Z00.01, Z71.89, Z12.11, and Z13.820.
