What level of MDM are coders counting Acute appendicitis at for Number and Complexity of Problems Addressed? These pts are presenting to the ER and the pts almost always end up going to surgery the same day. I know 2 of 3 elements of MDM are required in order get a level , but I am currently wondering about Problem Addressed.
 
As per my knowledge, It would be covered in Moderate Level, as if Acute appendicitis is not addressed promptly, can lead to complications like perforation, abscess formation, and sepsis and it has systemic symptoms like fever etc. as well.
