We recently had a patient that reacted to an Oncology drug. The nurse infused the patient with premeds then the initial drug but when the second drug was mixed the patient had a bad reaction and was sent to the ER. Can we bill for the second drug even though the patient did not receive it?

Thank you
Theresa

You cannot bill for the drug if the patient didn't recieve any of it. However, if it was mixed and they recieved some of it, then yes you can bill for it.
