what do you think the reason of admission for a patient with testis cancer, he is admitted for testis re-positioning so he would have radiotherapy later.
should i assign testis cancer as the principal diagnosis?
Hi
I have one question. Does the patient have any abnormalities of the testis such as compression of the cord due to the cancer? If not, then you would code the cancer code primary as this is the reason he is presenting for the procedure. If the patient also had radiation therapy on the same date of the procedure, the primary diagnosis could would be encounter for radiation therapy.
