Admitting diagnosis & definitive diagnosis

My employer posed a question today regarding the specificity of ICD-10 and a patient's inpatient hospital stay. If a patient's admitting diagnosis via ER or PCP is not the definitive diagnosis ie - admitted with mastoiditis, but ENT determines the patient has complicated otitis externa, will the hospital's billing reflect the specialist's diagnosis? He was concerned that a discrepancy in ICD-10 coding may impact reimbursement.
