What 5 digit after hour modifer (if any) can be billed for a surgeon who goes to the hospital on a Saturday to perform emergency surgery. The time frame is not between 10-8, so 99053 is not applicable.

Any thoughts are welcome!
 
Emergency

If the service is not provided in the office, I am not sure that there is a CPT code for you to obtain additional reimbursement for it. You can further review the Miscellaneous Services section in CPT Medicine section.
 
I think performing emergency surgery on a Saturday is part of being "on call" and should not be thought of as needing additional reimbursement from the insurance or patient.
