I have a question. I recall that the law state(d) a healthcare entity can have two fee schedules.
1. "TOS time of service discount" allowing a discount on the DATE of service only
2 Regular rates
However the TOS should also be passed over to the patient with insurance just as well for the discount. My question is, is there a law against offering a 30% discount to a ccompany (not an insurance but more like a company that takes LOP's upfront and reimburses the facility)
I use to work with an organization called Key Health that did this sort of service. THey look over an LOP case and if it looks kosher, they will acccept and pay the claims as you send them. This particular company is similar but my concern is the offering of the 30% discount by the billing dept IF they pay within a 3 day timeframe!
