Can we bill for Ages & Stages separately when this is done as part of a health check? If so, can you tell me the correct CPT code? I was told the other day that this is reimbursable. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

We use the Ages and Stages (ASQ) and code it as 96110. However, we never get reimbursement for it when billed with Medicaid Health Checks, it's always bundled. We get paid for it outside of health checks with Medicaid, but we don't do that often, only when there are development issues. All other carriers spiradically pay it. UHC is good about it though.

Hope this helps!

We also bill for 96110. You must have separate documentation of the testing results as per CPT and AAP. We use the Denver Developmental tools.Modify the E&M with a 25. I am paid by most payers except Medicaid. I found a great letter to use for appeal on the AAP website. Good luck!
