When a patient is having stomp complications do I use T89.6xx and Z89.6xx? I'm thinking that the T-code should tell it all but I'm not sure? Thanks for your help.
 
I think you meant to reference your stump code as T87. T87 defines a problem with an amputated stump. Z89 references an acquired stump. The difference between the two is that T87 only references upper or lower extremity and Z89 is specific to finger, wrist, above elbow, below elbow, etc.

So we would use both codes to indicate the problem with the stump and then the specific stump location.
