I was wondering if anyone is familiar with ANA PANEL AND REFLEXIVE billing commercial payers. If the ANA Screen is positive additional tests are ordered and billed with the date the blood was drawn. We are getting feedback that the reflexive test should be billed the day it is run (which is a couple of days after the specimen is drawn). Also, the reflexive test has 5 antibodies with 4 sharing the same CPT code so we've been billing those on a single line with 5 units and the feedback is that it should be billed separate line item. Does anyone have any guideline on how to do this or how your are billing in your practice? Thank you.
