A colleague of mine was determing what the medical term is for the center of the body. I told him it was either vental or caudal. Was I correct? If anybody can provide me with what the correct term is please let me know. I was probally wrong when I told him these two choices

The body is divided into planes or sections or slices. The frontal (coronal) plane divides the body into anterior (ventral) and posterior (dorsal) sections. The midsagittal (median) plane divides the body into right and left parts. A transverse plane divides the body into superior and inferior parts. The most superior part of the body is at the head (cranial), the most inferior part of the body is at the feet (caudal or toward the tail). So the center of the body is median. The CPT Professional edition provides a figure to illustrate the body planes.
