I need some clarification on an ancillary lab encounter, the OB pt comes back in for a gonorrhea test after testing postive for Chlymidia and undergoing treatment; I had coded 647.63 and 079.98 since this was a test of cure to make sure the pt's treatment had cured the infection (lab results are still postive for chlymidia we can't code from the lab results). the provider ordered a gonorrhea test as a screening
V74.5. I am conflicted with the pt having an std and the test being ordered as a screening, but becasue this is a different test should it be screening?:confused:
