I have a doctor questioning whether 01936 accurately reflects the work of the anesthesiologist during a Kyphoplasty. So, what code does everyone use for anesthesia during a Kypho?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Yep, that's what I'd use. I suppose there could be cases where it would qualify to be bumped up to 00600-00640 if it was converted from percutaneous to open, or if it were particularly complex, but a simple kypho yes, 01936.

01936 is fairly specific as anesthesia codes go. If you review his op note and find that it wasn't perc, or involved manipulation of the spine, or otherwise exceeded the scope of 01936, you should look to the 00600 range codes.
