My doc is doing a 30450(septorhinoplasty) with a 20910 (cartilage graft: costochondral). What anesthesia code would be used? I am thinking it would be a 00160 with a P1 modifier. Can someone guide me on if this is accurate. Also, this is a 5 hour surgery so is there a time based code that I should be using? Thanks in advance Tracy

Yes, you would use 00160 if you're billing for the anesthesiologist. The only time you bill Physical Status modifiers are when they are P3 or greater.

00160 = 5 units

5 units + the time indicated on the anesthesia record (1 units for each 15 minute block) = total billable units
This may not be estimated.
