If a patient has a history of Angina do we still code Angina or does it go away?
 
If a patient has a history of Angina do we still code Angina or does it go away?

Angina is a symptom of heart disease, not a disease itself. Much like heart burn or chest pain, it does come and go.

Code for angina if the symptom is present, or if it is the reason for the exam. Do not code if it is just extra information unrelated to the current exam or procedure.
