Patient has a bimalleolar fracture and a distal tibial fracture of the right ankle. In operative report the dr states that he does an ORIF of the right ankle for the bimalleolar fracture and fixation for the anterior lip of the distal tibia. He also goes to say that there was reconstruction of the anterior talofibular ligament. I so far have the codes 27814- for the bilalleolar ORIF and 27827- for the tibia. Is the reconstruction of the ligament a separately billable service?
