Hello,
Does anyone know if Medicaid pays for annual preventive services for patients over 40 yrs? On the Medi-cal website, when using their search tool to inquire about procedure codes 99386-99387 and 99396-99397), it states "this procedure is not a covered benefit". If not covered, how do you go about coding?

Hi Sharon, thank you for the information. Maybe being new to coding, I'm not quite understanding.
So for example if Medicaid does not reimburse for annual preventive/well visit 99396, would I just code an E/M code (99212 -99214), but that deflects the purpose of an annual/well visit if it is not coded with the preventive code.
