Wiki Annual Wellness Exams

Can anyone explain to me how the G0438 & G0439 codes work? Most all of our patients are on Medicare and have been for years. If the Dr. performs an annual wellness exam on one of our patients for the first time, is that a G0438 or G0439 and then every year after that when he provides the exam which code do we use?

G0438 is for the first visit, even if the patient is established with your doctor. Every year after that he will use the G0439. Please feel free to contact me directly if you have further questions, I would be happy to help you
