Wiki Annual Wellness Visit Billed Too Soon

Hello,

I've come across the scenario where a provider did an Annual Wellness Visit, however, it was done too soon (within a year of the previous). In this scenario where there was no other acute conditions addressed and truly the only thing performed was the AWV, is there another code that could be utilized instead? I would think not since the intent of the visit was the AWV and not an E/M. However, I just wanted to see if anyone had any information on this.
 
Honestly, we lost a lot of revenue on this same scenario. Front desk as scheduling patients a week earlier than their year mark. We thought of everything and basically had to write them off as a loss. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you.
